They will INTERVIEW you at 850/100. They will not actually hire you until you have 1000/100.
I understand why they are doing this...they are losing good quality applicants who are getting jobs at 600 hours elsewhere. This way they can get them on the hook earlier. That last 150 hours would go by pretty quick if you know you have a job waiting.
