WOW, lets make it simple. When you quit you are no longer a pilot and therefore the union no longer represents you. When you strike you are still a pilot and the union represents you. It is pretty hard to hold the union responsible for those it does not represent. It would be like holding ALPA responsible for something the cabbies in NY do. I do have a few crayons where I could draw you a nice picture if that would help.
