From a chief pilot who briefed my recurrent training class, CAL moved up the delivery line when openings became available a couple of years ago. He said we will get #35 off the 787 line and after. His comment was, "Continental will not take any planes earlier than that so Boeing and other operators can work out any kinks before we put ours into revenue service." Direct quote. I have no idea what a faster rate of delivery might do to their plans of letting other work out the problems.
