I would not run anywhere in College Park without a way to protect myself. I used to ride a road bicycle around the outer loop around the airport quit a bit, and I did that for years with no problem. I believe they even installed some sidewalks you can use on the west side. Be aware that south Atlanta is a hotbed of violent crime and it's nothing to play around with. Make the drive to Vinings or Piedmont Park if you are not armed.
