I have this letter in my stack, details changed to protect the innocent. I drafted this and asked my former CP to sign it and he did with no changes. You do not want to draft anything too outlandish or sell your abilities or performance short.

Thomas Jefferson
Chief Pilot
Charters 'R Us
10000 W. 21rd St.

To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to submit this letter of recommendation for George Washington. George was employed from April of 1772 through May of 1779 as a Charter Pilot for our firm. I can vouch for his ability as a pilot and overall high regard for safety. He is always dependable, he meets his obligations on time, and shows excellent judgment in his work. He also keeps meticulous records, gets along well with others, and works as a team member when required. He is a safe and capable pilot whom I trusted to get the job done for our clients. I can sincerely recommend him to your firm.

Sincerely,

Thomas Jefferson
