I want to be careful how I word this, I am not trying to compare mesa with GJ, but it is not a secret that a lot of people don't like mesa. So what does mesa do? They welcome jumpseaters. You never hear of anyone getting denied by a Mesa crew. I have to ride them alot and they are always the most friendly and welcoming crews I run into. I have never heard anything other than, "Welcome aboard, glad to have you, make yourself at home." Maybe GJ needs to take a lesson from them, and try to build some respect (however little it may be) wherever they can. That is FACT. I'm just an FO, but EVERY captain I've flown with goes out of their way to welcome ANY jumpseater from ANY airline. Clearly it's an unwritten rule Mesa people have decided on, and I agree with it wholeheartedly. Denying so-and-so jumpseats because you're made at so-and-so or so-and-so's parent company or subsidiary is simply childish. Carried out to its logical conclusion, no one will allow jumpseaters from any other airline.
