I was the one that originally posted that rumor. The MEM based 320 FO td me that the MEM chief pilot told him "45" Md90s would be going to MEM. Now, I know that doesn't sound right, and he said planes, not "crews". Maybe Delta will move 9's and 320's to ATL and put only Md90s in MEM. It was a quick conversation, and I initially said "you mean in MSP, right?". And he said MEM. Just a rumor.
Just to be clear, we don't have any MD90 only categories. They are all MD88 categories with pilots who happen to be also qualified on the 90 (and, once ATL gets done becomming 90 qualed - if they arent already - all 88 pilots will be 90 qualified). So the roumer of a base chief pilot mentioning an "MD90" category in MEM doesn't seem to hold much water.
Now if he had said there were going to be 45
MD88's in MEM, that would be different story
