Exactly how do you figure? It's better than the big signing bonus we got in our last contract. It equates to 4 months of a 3% pay raise...not great but the same as we got on the last contract (except for the DOS raise.)
Had contract 2006 pay rates been instituted on the amendable date of the contract, I would have made an extra 20,461.66 for the 29 months we were in negotiations (at min BLG.) My signing bonus, spread in 2 payments was 17,700. We won't even talk about the time value of money that will never be made up. Average that by 4700 pilots and the company was laughing all the way to the bank while we were dumb enough to think we had made out.
This lump sum at least comes close to covering the loss of 3% for four months.
