You know, just to address the old Delta culture of Huff Daland Dusters turned Delta, Western Airlines, Northeast Airlines, Chicago and Southern Airlines and portions of Pan Am and the new Delta culture that now welcomes in the combined cultures of Northwest Orient and Republic which once was North Central Airlines, Southern Airways and Hughes Air West.
The journey will be difficult. The road will be long.
We face this challenge with profound humility, and knowledge of
everyone elses profound limitations. But
we also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the
Delta pilots. Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that
generation from now, we will be able to look back and tell our
grandchildren that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the
retired sick
so that more would retire and
then good job
scope to
prevent any of us from becoming the the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of
Delta Connection began to slow and our
industry began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war
with each other, began a new one with Southwest and secured our
scope and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth. This was the moment—this was the time—when we came together to remake this great
airline so that it may always reflect our very best selves and our highest ideals.
So, let's look at each other, and say what we're all thinking. Let's not get caught, let's keep going. GO! yeah, I'm sure. And Thank you, God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America.
