Here's some Great Lakes EAS cities to ponder:
Visalia, CA (45 minutes from Fresno)
Merced, CA (1 hour from Fresno)
Pueblo, CO (45 minutes from Colorado Springs)
Kingman AZ (less than 2 hours from Flagstaff and Las Vegas)
Cortez, CO (less than an hour from Durango)
Farmington, NM (1 hour from Durango)
Liberal, KS and Dodge City, KS (each about 1 hour from Garden City, KS...just combine the three and make it one EAS route)
Great Bend, KS and Hays, KS (an hour from each other. Combine)
The MT cities are going to Gulfstream but let's look at those too:
Wolf Point, MT and Glasgow, MT (less than 1 hour from each other. Combine)
Williston, ND and Sidney, MT and Glendive, MT (Sidney being the mid point, it's 1 hour from Williston and 1 hour from Glendive. Have those people drive to Sidney and install something more than an NDB there with all the newfound money! Williston might not be EAS and if not, just combine Sidney and Glendive)
Laramie, WY (1 hour from Cheyenne, WY. Combine)'
or
Cheyenne, WY (1 hour from Denver)
I could go on but I have stuff to do. Even if I agreed with the intention of the EAS program, there's no way I could agree with the implementation of it. This stuff is just unnecessary. If these people need to get somewhere, they can hop in their cars and drive an hour to the nearest airport with regional or major airline service, or they can move. Nobody is forcing them to live in the middle of nowhere.
