Probably partially depends on what checkride it was.. Typically 1-2 is fine, but 3+ usually doesn't look so hot... also consider those in combo with speeding tickets, etc.

Despite whatever you have, make sure to hide nothing, otherwise when they find out, and they will, you're toast. As long as you can describe what happened and what you learned from it, you should be fine (within reason of course...).
