I live in ATL (class date 3/14) and would like to be based in ATL. However, when we interviewed they said "No Way, it's probably gonna be JFK." They said that JFK reserve would be a couple of months and I'd eventually get back to ATL if I wanted it. FWIW, the last vacancy (11-2) was revised and 3 FO ATL spots where given to very junior guys, they are either finishing training or just popped out of it not too long ago.
My guess is most of the guys that wanted to go to ATL that where hired before the "crisis" have already gotten it.
Also keep in mind that ATL has been very senior on the FO side. Lots of guys are going to be upgrading this year, prolly a big part of them out of ATL to other bases. That will always free up some FO seats for new guys wanting to go there...
