At XJ seniority did not come into play for chosing a plane. I was put in the Saab because I was a 'high-time' FO as they put it, and they wanted the 'low-time' FOs in the 900. So, with that rationale...I have more experience so I get less pay?
I know things have changed, but at the regional and FO level....pay rates should be the same. And, second year pay should never be below $35.
There is an old rule,
The Law of Gross Tonnage, that says the more one hauls, the more he earns. It applies to trucks, barges, ocean going vessels, railroads, space ships, and... airplanes. A quick scan of APC shows all the "Legacy" airlines differentiate pay based on
The Law (some by type, some by wide v. narrow body) The physical labor may be the same, but the responsibility is greater. If you have an issued with
The Law, you might reconsider your place in this industry.
