I've always wondered why we board BC 1st. It makes more sense to board from rear, less standing around. If I was a business man I would want to sit in the gate area with full connectivity vs sitting in the airplane while the people walk by bumping my elbow.
The problem with that is many in the way back would simply drop their carry-on mattress and lamp in the F overhead. Also, many like to get settled in, have their drink, and make a last minute phone call or send a last minute email. Most are fine with their smart phone connectivity.
Besides, they can still board at last call, however, they all seem to want to get on first.
