Mounty,

Absolutely! When I was hired at UPS, I was number 607 on the seniority list. In fact, a guy whom I got hired at UPS was a captain there, 5 or 6 years before I made captain at FedEx. My problem was that I was unable to cope with the way they treated people. I just couldn't see myself there for the rest of my career. So, without another job, I left. Do I look back on my decision? Sure, every once in a while, and each time, I reconfirm that I made the correct decision for me. Do I have any regrets? No, not one. Life is not all about money, and any one who thinks it is, is missing the point. I'm sure that I probably lost a half a million dollars or so by leaving UPS, but I've had a great career at FedEx, where they treated me with respect and dignity. I enjoyed every day there, and with the exception of just a few jerks I flew with, enjoyed the very vast majority of the flight crews, management guys, and their administrative assistants. I've had a few of "issues" while there, cancer twice, and open heart surgery, and I always felt that the company helped me in any way they could. I really couldn't have asked for more.
