The regionals are sub-contractors and as long as they are such they will not be able to make any gains in QOL and pay. As soon as a gain is made the job is taken away. Mainline contracts allow sub-contracting and most mainline hiring departments want 121 PIC time to get hired. Its a nasty cycle that can only improve with mainline bringing these airplanes back in house.

I think you will find most regional pilots want the mainline guys to tighten scope. Especially the compass guys with flow through. We understand that when the dc-9's are parked and more EMB brought online it only lengthens the time we will spend at compass. Your interest are our interest.
