Upgrade 5 years plus. The senior f/o's arent going to upgrade cause of how poor our reserve system is. Now if people won't do it for $70k then how do you think life would be as an f/o on reserve making $20k?
You can commute but 90% of the time you start reserve on day 1 at 5am. Finish at whatever on day 5. You won't be released before 5pm on your last day.

No day credit
No credit for sitting hot reserve
No cancellation pay
No holiday pay
1/2 credit for dead heads
72hrs/month pay.

Basically you only get paid for the time you are flying. Figure 20-60hrs hot reserve per month for no additional credit.

Our senior pilots will tell you to suck it up and pay your dues.
