I respect your posting and think you, and so far only you, seem to have a grip on the overall picture. Your posting was well written and thoughtful and I agree with you on the narrowing of the road to a Majors seat. This is a vicious cycle that we are allowing to happen to us and the profession. Those ebbs and flows in the pilot pipeline have been there since tine began and will continue but it is not an excuse to have inexperienced people flying unsuspecting passengers. You have acknowledged that express as a whole lack experience and have the desire to gain more, and I commend you for that. The express carriers are tapping a pool of unqualified people that desire to be Major pilots and have abused them for far too long. They have filled their heads with this ridiculous notion that they ARE airline captains and are right up there with the 400 jocks who fly the Asian routes. They are NOT! But from reading the responses other than yours, one can see this over inflated ego syndrome that allows these children to be so disrespectful to those who could help them achieve lofty goals. Even at Alcoholics Anonymous they say the first step to a cure us acknowledging the disease and most if those on here done even see the disease as it consumes their futures. short sighted? Hell Yes! These are the ones who think the rj is a good thing in their career path. Andy, I applaud your thoughtful insights and I respect that....the rest of you get just what you deserve, flying the lawn darts forever!
