I suppose the ultimate exploits of the Guard Police occur when a crew actually uses guard for legitimate purposes, to be immediately swarmed by irate members of the same GP's that have been zealously keeping the frequency clear for legitimate purposes.
You're not a real tool-bag, however, until you graduate to the Common Police, where you can move beyond keeping the frequency open, and actually start editing for content. There, you can cleanse the airwaves of conversation about every sport but your personal favorite, and you set your own time limits on other people's conversations. Doesn't matter that the weather is perfect, and the frequency's been clear for an hour: you're ready to key the mike on the second syllable if someone else keys up to say "Hi Bill". And of course, there are the stupid farners. God forbid two Lufthansa pilots would elect to discuss turbulence in (eeeew) "German", and you're all over it, before they can even finish saying "Alloooh".
Here's to you, Mr. Guard and Common Police Guy...
