I'm all for being your own boss. I never liked the idea of putting my life and future in the hands of a single person whose interests are usually for HIS benefit, not mine. That being said, the so called "industry expert instructors" that all these courses seem to utilize are suspect at best.
All the "for profit" colleges that are taking so much heat right now for providing "education" to inner city residents at outrageous prices use the same kind of teachers. University of Phoenix Online, DeVry, ITT Tech...pretty much any "college" you see regularly advertised on TV and radio use supposed "professionals" from the business industry rather than real professors and instructors. Of course they hype it as a superior way to learn, but evidence has proved otherwise. Remember the old adage "Those who can...do, those who can't...teach".
I wish you luck in your endeavour, but since 80% of small business fail within the first 2 years, I wouldn't quit your day job until you have something making money.
