All labor unions in China must be government-run and no independent unions are allowed. So unless I'm missing something, they can't belong to ALPA. That being said, there's certainly some potential labor implications to watch out for in this situation.
That makes it complicated...the MAG contract doesn't have much, but it does have scope. JO cannot employ pilots who are not part of MAG alpa. I wonder how's he's going to weasle out of that?
