Lets be honest here. There is absolutely no conflict with RJET, even with all of its separate certificates, and ALPA. All of the RJET pilots are Teamsters and there is no conflict fighting this one. No matter what you think of there being a boogieman at National or not, there is no conflict with this one. It came down to legal interpretation.
What has saved them in the past was the fact that pilots could not fly under one certificate on one day, and another one the next. Yes, they were under the same CBA, but they had to do indoc etc to pass to another operation.
I do agree, they do need be seen as a single carrier and given that status.
Then why aren't we fighting this? I yield to the fact that many I fly with don't have a clue that this is happening, but it looks like a black & white clear cut violation. What
is ALPA saying? You would think that as ALPA regional carriers' (ie. Comair) flying is soaked up by Teamsters pilots even the regional ranks at national would have a dog in this fight.
