Window dressing so the shareholders can make their money when the divesting starts; and it's no coincidence the announcement is coming so close to the April payouts for management. This is all orchestrated intentionally well in advance. The divestiture is coming for sure this time. The shareholders are seeing Delta, United, etc. moving forward and still nothing from AA. This divestiture not only gives the stock a quick boost, but it also pressures APA with outsourcing possibilities, with the hope that the pilots concede on some issues for a quicker resolution. The shareholders like the sound of that too. Probably a good time to buy shares of AMR.
