Default Are King Air 300's Part 23 or 25?

We just purchased a King Air 300 (MTW 14,000 lb.).

I know that the King Air 90's and 200's are Part 23 being under 12,500 lb.

The reason I'm asking is I'm needing to replace the outdated KLN900 GPS with "something" but although the Garmin GPSs are STC'd for the B300, it specifies Part 23 aircraft, and I'm told most B300's are Part 25. I've been told that some B300s are Part 23 but I can't find out how to determine which Part my aircraft was certified under.

I contacted Raytheon and they sent me a bunch of paperwork and regs that didn't answer the question, or I'm not smart enough to figure it out.

If the Garmin equipment can't be installed in the B300 for $15,000 the only other option is either a used non WAS FMS for $30,000 or a new WAS FMS for $115,000.

Any suggestions?
