If they ask for 300ME, they may not consider themselves an entry level airline. Some regionals are hiring people with less than that in TOTAL time.

They may want pilots with some experience already in turbine aircraft.... Part 135 drivers, Furloughed from other regionals (or jumpers if the price is right), etc. Nothing wrong to have higher standards until you can't staff your airline. Then you either raise pay or lower standards.
