Yeah Sierra, I agree...it is of vital importance that we project a professional image at all times, and the pinnacle of that image is that snappy brown cap with the big emblem. I find that the cap makes a big impression on the folks sleeping on the benches and floors of Shenzhen Airport at 3am. The public is equally "gaga" over the hat in Mumbai, when it's 95 degrees and 100% humidity outside. I find that I fly a better approach when I wear the hat under my headset, and it provides that added warmth on my noggin when it's a chilly night in Köln.
Maybe your FQS buddy should have been wearing his hat in the sim the other day when the FAA was watching...you know, since there is a link between competence and appearance.
