Why do I want travel benefits? Non-reving sucks these days. Nothing like rushing to the airport to sit standby on a flight that's oversold by 10%. (Or worse, making it half way to a connecting city and getting stuck with your family...

I'd much rather just buy a ticket if I really have to fly somewhere... (I'll drive 6-7 hours one way though before I even consider flying any more).

We don't really bother with vacations any more... I'm home enough that I don't need to get away to destress, and since I can take my wife on a trip or two a year to a resort destination for a few nights, she doesn't have the need to get away all that much either.

Even if we did need to get away, the points that I accrue on the AMEX and hotel points more than pays for roundtrip 1st or business class airfare and a week hotel stay at a full-service Hilton somewhere...
