What am I to do, when flying an old J3, and someone does whatever they wish? Even if they do announce it. Seems to me that is why the AIM has a recommended pattern entry.
I feel ya, as my favorite plane to fly (champ) does not have a radio either...that's why I plan on picking up one of these (not this exact one) for <$200 bucks. When i'm out in the cruising around, it's off...but when I go into an airport I turn it on. It works like a champ (no pun intended)! It worked for me in the past.
