I feel ya, I was in your shoes a few years back. I learned it all on my own as well. I learned all my stuff through a few UPT journals (of students currently in training) and a few other sites.

That's the way to do it. Check out these sites. If you haven't seen these yet, I would spend an afternoon on them just reading. Wantscheck pretty much has all you need. If you go to baseops (the second link), I would spend a lot of time reading and searching around....because your answer most likely has been asked, and answered, before. These guys get their panties in a wad and get at E-thug on you if you ask a question that was asked six years ago... Oh and their search function sucks, so be vague..that works the best.

No man, but back in pilot training, I spent a lot of time down on the 6th! Nice area though!

I know you Texans don't wanna leave the motherland, so off the top of my head there is a Reserve F-16, Guard C-130, Navy Reserve F-18, Navy C-130s (?) in Ft Worth. Guard F-16s and C-5s down in San Antonio. Start visiting if you think you want to fly any of those. Don't be afraid to visit the unit.
