I have been at CommutAir four years and can honestly say you just have to make the best of this place. The company sucks, quality of life is poor, pay is a joke and schedules are horrible but we have a solid pilot group. The MEC is hard at work to get us guys and gals a contract but the company is in no hurry to give in on any economic areas.

It took me exactly three years to the bid to upgrade but also during a very stagnant time at CommutAir. Things are definitely on the move these days with the fleet growth, monthly upgrades and hiring. We have Captain's that are starting to get interview calls so hopefully that will progress. I believe we are flying the right type of aircraft especially with respect to the price of fuel these days.

I do believe that our biggest challenge will be to adequately staff the airline. The flight attendants have a very high turnover rate and my latest news is that we are not meeting our staffing requirement for Pilots. So will you fly alot at CommutAir? I would say yes especially as more people move on. We are a small pilot group with a decent percentage of qualified pilots that could get scooped up in the next wave. If you can get hired and get off Reserve ASAP then life will be a better. Reserve bid equals 9 days off ... need I say more. Good luck!
