Under 135.243 b the minimums for a VFR 135 PIC includes 500 total time as a requirement. I am looking into some of these 135 jobs now that I am a hair over 450 hours and a thought struck me. I have 50+ FTD hours and I am trying to figure out if that time can be used toward the 500 hour minimums for this. I have been digging through FARs and googling the crap out of it to no avail. Does anyone have any input on this and if it can be used? Once source said that it could be used toward the 1500 hour IFR PIC mins for 135 but I couldn't see anywhere where it could count toward the VFR PIC mins. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated. Those 50 FTD time of is instrument time it can be used toward the 75hrs instrument requirement for part 135 IFR.
It does not count toward the 500tt for VFR 135, unless the company that you're applying say it can be done.
Until that happen just keep flying, 50hrs can be done in 1 to 2 months.
