A company can't "say" it can be done, since the regs don't provide any relief like they do for simulated instrument time.
There is no exception. FTD time is NOT total time, nor is it flight time, nor is it PIC time, SIC time, or any other sort of loggable time (ASEL, AMEL, etc).
FTD and full motion SIM (level C/D) gets logged in it's own column and doesn't count towards other columns.
