Interesting, we are being told that United is trimming the schedule due to high fuel costs. For some fleets and seats, if you are sitting 50% or less, you are being forced into a 70 hour line. Some of these folks are wondering how they are going to pay the mortgage. The CAL side however, appears to continue line construction at or near max hours with very little schedule reduction.
Makes you wonder.
70 hrs/mo for the junior FO in the Airbus is a bit more than $75K/yr. Some can't make ends meet on $75K/yr???
