Just from what reading I've done, the industry is going to come alive soon. Travel is going to be here for some time to come. Until OPEC and the oil-mungers get their hands out of the politicains pockets so they can find alternate fuel source (non-patrolium based)...GA will suffer and commerical Airlines will profit.
