As of right now, it is no different than driving, non-reving, or jumpseating to work. Commercial flying counts against flight time limits, but not recreational/personal flying (or military reserve flying).

The new rest/duty rules may specifically state that nonrev/jumpseat travel is not legal rest, but that whole concept is stupid, ill-thought-out, and specifically intended to punish traditional commuters. The wording is likely to be even stupider than the intent, so unless it occurs to someone to specifically include piloting one's own aircraft I doubt that would be affected.
