No, the reality is you never knew how... a big difference between book theory, canned stage checks, canned checkrides and the real world.
If you had flown where you are now first, you wouldn't have been in that situation.

It's better to build a solid foundation of strong instrument skills, decision making and experience before you go into the shinny jet. If I was able to make one change, it would have been going to 135 cargo before 121 passenger.
