Just to play devil's advocate....from the "don't count your chickens before they hatch" department. It is being reported that the river will crest, when the bulge of water gets there, at 19' 6". The levy structures around the city are SUPPOSED to hold out UP TO 20". That, my friend, is a lot of water. My hope is that the analysts are correct. Oh, the bulge of water is currently in the Vicksburg, MS area.

Agreed-just what was reported. I would guess the analysts use many data points and rely on numerous expert resources. BTW, I really hope the levys in N.O. are able to hold a little more than 20" of water.
