Dropping trips is hard since we seem to be understaffed (from a pilot's perspective). The reserve levels are typically not enough on most days of the month to straight drop something. I have had some luck swapping trips (on the same days) with trips in open time that are more commutable (but mostly credit less). And I think there is limited participation in trade board drops/swaps.

Min days off is 11, and that's what reserve will get. You'll get at least one stretch of 4 days in a row, and no single days off, per the contract. Junior lineholders seem to get at least 13-14... but then again it all depends on what the person is bidding and how much flying the company is forcing on us (lately most have been forced to have at least 90 hours of credit for the month).
