It makes a huge difference if you're the one who could live in base with a 20 minute drive, or need to commute 1500 miles since you cannot hold said base and not have to deal with some BSU graduate with 10 hours of multi time.
Except for the fact that if you live more than 130 miles from your base, you have gateway travel; meaning the company pays for your travel. And the odds are fairly good that the trip will originate somewhere other than your base because that's how they work, so they're going to fly you to wherever in the world the airplane is.
And Atlas doesn't hire 10 hour multi engine wonders...
