Agreed with the article-they should be used for risk management and not to play Vegas at home. Multiple strategies are the key to diversification. By swinging for singles you ocassionally strike out and ocassionally hit a triple.

To use the baseball analogy, I would say that what I'm doing with the options is more like hitting singles very consistently and almost never striking out. I'm using them simply to create consistent cash flow and manage risk, not to speculate on stock price or option price.
And for tsquare - I spend WAY more time here on APC than I do on managing my accounts!
