There had been a change in European law. Bumping a passenger is now very very expensive. The policy used to be no upgrades. It has changed with new regulations in Europe.
Loads will be higher this summer than last. They ftequently used to leave Y pax versus upgrading knowing that they can get them on the next days flight. Now with fewer seats available, they will put them all on.
