That's a good question. According to Nosmo's post, all it says is "out of base swap board." If it was a swap between line holding pilots from different bases, I could probably be convinced it's okay but why would the guy living in base want to do something like this? I know, stranger things have happened but I don't see it happening very often. If it's a swap with open time then I feel it's an abrogation of senority via the example I gave. It also potentially screws reserves in both bases by tranfering time from one base to another. Now you could be impacting whether a trip would be awarded via a greenslip because the swapped trip might now be in a base where there is plenty of reserve coverage. You know the company is not going to agree to an out of base swap unless it's advantageous to them.
This is a
bad idea.
