Bar, I am not too sure, Asia seems to be rebounding, at least to the Financial Centers. The Beach Destinations are not recovering "as quickly" but we are full on many of the Trans-pacs and the O and D out of NRT to most of Asia.
I see a lot of this travel coming back, and it would be foolish to park a jet like the 744 because of the slump. The only way I see them doing that is if they ink an agreement with Jet Airways to get their 777-300's along with a few orders. The 744 is a cargo beast and makes its money there. From talking to their crews, they are full.
I agree with all of the above. But, sometimes you have to wonder how stuff like this is tracked. If you cancel service, like NGO and KIX, to the beaches then you cancel marketing to those locations. If you cancel the marketing, how do you know if the demand returns? I'm sure there are smart people who know how that works......at least I hope there are.
The agents in Saipan are visably worried about how the loads out of NRT have fallen off.
United is making big plans for the invasion of Guam after they take over AirMico.
