Why should everyone else move back to Love just to make SWA happy
I don't think anyone is even proposing this.
If SWA wants to serve the country out of Dallas simply move in to DFW slap up a few signs, buy a few gates and bring over a few 737's.
Why? So we can get slapped with flow and gate holds during your big banks?
We left IAH for HOU for a reason. We left SFO for OAK for a reason. Why would we move one of our biggest operations to another delay-prone, hub-dominated airport just to comply with an antiquated law?
Lets say for the sake of argument that we did pack up and move 14 miles away. We would then be able to fly anywhere we wanted, JUST LIKE WE WOULD IF WE STAYED PUT AND LIFTED THE W.A. So what would be the difference? Would having us in your hair make you feel better? I'm really NOT trying to be a wise-ass, I just don't get what difference it makes.
We didn't sign the W.A. for a reason; It didn't make sense then, and it makes even less sense now. Large metropolitan cities all over the country exist with many airports serving them for the betterment of all who travel. You guys (AA), put out a very nice product. Why don't we lift these arcane restrictions and let the traveling public choose which of our business models best suits their needs?
