No. Why is it that anytime the company tries to throw a bone to the people on the bottom of the totem pole, the guys higher up see it as a chance to help themselves? A little selfish if you ask me.
Reminds me of when the pay raise for 1st year pay was turned down. ( I think that was the situation)
Yeah. Tell that to the Pinnacle ALPA folks in 2007 when management proposed pay increases for first year and second year payrates. It was immediately turned down by our union, to stand in unity and gain greater leverage. We got neither. Accepting that pay increase would have improved my W2 for 2007 and 2008. Interestingly, this same union tried to (and did) tie the TA1 bonus to W2 wages earned in the years prior. What a joke. Intentionally screwed the junior guys not once, but twice. No wonder TA1 was turned down. I know I voted no more so to protest the selected bonus methodology as opposed to TA1 itself. It was the only way we as FOs could have had our voices heard to our union. Emailing, calling reps worked to only bring it up at a meeting, at which point they turned down all other options and kept up the W2 method. The only other option was to vote no.

Anyway, remember, Pinnacle and Mesaba are still two different companies, even if owned by same holding company. Pinnacle's union needs to look at our best interests, just as the Mesaba union has been looking out for their owns best interest. I have a HUGE problem when my union works in a longevity increase for XJ pilots, while giving up the fight and accepting that our Pinnacle pilots will not have their longevity adjusted from sim date to class date DOH. It is pure BS. They should have taken a stand for US first, and told management that nothing else is up for discussion regarding seniority or longevity unless they first come to the table to adjust OUR Pinnacle longevity. Our union needs to fight its own battles before fighting for yours.
