i cant believe you guys are recommending this guy to a mei job instead of a 121 chance... dude take the job at lakes upgrade is under 2 years, and if you dont like it or dont want to finish out then peace out to another regional after 15 months (training contract) and you should be totally able to get a job elsewhere as many current FO's at lakes are leaving for skywest and the like... it also gives you a small preview of things to expect in terms of 121 flying and schedules (although lakes schedules are going to be a little bit more brutal with those 9 leg days and 8 hour overnights).. i might be biased because i work at lakes now but i was instructing at a mei gig where i only flew mei instruction the entire time at about 50 hours a month and made more money, just make the sacrifice and make the jump it will be worth it.

I agree, and I've taken the position, I'm just hoping they will be around after the summer since I have an August class date. That being said if for some reason it doesn't work out for lakes, I'd still have my current job (pay't due on June 30th) and will have only missed out on a few months of multi. I'm actually looking forward to training. I've most of the limitations and emergencie memorized and am now working on systems and regulations so I can minimize the fire hose effect in training in august.
