Answer: The Delta sick leave (SL) system is completely different than both United’s and Continental’s. Delta is awarded SL on an annual basis based on years of service for use in that year only and with no carry over. Continental’s SL is similar to United’s with a continuous monthly accrual but with a cap of 1300 hours versus United’s 1000 hours. There have been no discussions to change to the Delta SL system.
I think the word "YET" should probably be added to the end of that sentence. If we aren't at the real meaty pay, retirement, benefits and scope sections at the table then it certainly is a topic that could come up for face-to-face discussions...at some point in the future.
