The recall process is fairly straight forward. Just start a resolution at your next LEC meeting. Or just send the people you want out an email telling them it's time for new leadership and you will be starting the recall process if they don't leave. My guess is many of them will not want to go through the recall process and just leave the position.

Rumor has it the MEC removed all the members of the negotiating committee
Still trying to confirm this

ALPA email today said most all AWA Mec is now newly appointed.

What lead to this TA even being presented to your pilot group? With general conditions and your situation in particular (50 seaters that UA needs), that in & of itself seems really odd.

I’m even more surprised that it only failed by 3 votes. What led almost 50% of the pilot group to vote ‘yes’?

I don’t mean to be a jackwad in asking these questions, but I’m truly at a loss in how this played out as it did so I appreciate anyone who’s good enough to take the time to explain a bit.

Their reps spent more time paying for free food to convince the pilots this was the best they could do after wasting 8 years of resources.

Also I hear the former MEC leader CS stepped down months ago, yet he’s still on ALPA leave.... why is he on ALPA leave if he stepped down?

He’s on ALPA leave for national work. It’s legitimate

A better question would be “why don’t we have a negotiating committee yet and why do we keep getting emails reminding us that we’re looking for a membership committee chairman when THE NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE IS STILL EMPTY.”

We have been told by our local union there is no such thing as “alpa national” but now there is. He’s running for a position in “alpa national” not “doing work.” Just like the lack of local work. He’s got my vote!

How many idiots screamed and yelled about voting no because the company would have to come immediately right back with a much much better offer??

Yep. Time is on their side. The company is in no hurry. Happy to keep paying your simple 1.5% raise every October. A recession is coming. Might be next week or 2 years, but when it happens if there isn't a contract in place you can guess what the company is going to say. "Gee, ummm sorry. Times are tough now. No bonus, no raises, and you need to pay more for your benefits. That's our new offer. Too bad you didn't approve the contract ..."

Implying they wouldn’t have come screaming back the second the economy turns about needing concessions anyway?

Plus it’s a little hard to vote yes on a TA that had even a few concessions in it given the state the industry is in right now.
