Default Financial wellness survey

Don’t forget to participate in the ALPO Financial Wellness survey so they can use that info to take money from retirement benefits to give temporary bonuses to new hires in the 3rd failed TA forthcoming.

Did you really think the newbies were going to keep coming for $36 an hour when everyone else was $45-50? And unless you get approved for single pilot 121 ops you actually NEED pilots in that right seat.

And yeah, I know, IN YOUR DAY an FO would have been delighted to make $12 an hour, and happily not only done preflight in -30 degree weather, but actually pushed back the aircraft himself - with his own two hands - before climbing up into the right seat.

Times have changed. Used to be for each pilot leaving, there were 100 resumes awaiting to fill that vacancy. Now, the pilot supply has dried up.

Comments are a pure example of how naive some of the new hires are. Retirement benefits don’t just mean actually retiring from company X, but the 401k and other contributions you receive during your tenure that carry over into your next job opportunity. I’m not retiring with AWAC but I’d like to keep or gain better benefits while I’m here as should everyone else. Also maybe read the latest email from ALPO about grievances for people who stuck up for themselves instead of getting pushed over by a manager on the phone that’s probably junior to yourself. Know your contract and don’t accept anything less. #improbablyyoungerthanyou
