Now that the awards are out for next month I can officially say I got really effed with this stupid LOA. The first time I bid for April I had 22 days off and 75 hours of credit. With the rebid I have 23 days off and 60 hours of credit. I got one extra day off at the expense of 15 hours of pay. I’m happy this loa is (temporarily) keeping junior pilots employed but senior pilots are getting effed up the a.

Fixed it for you.

Unless you're the only one getting hours removed...

Well junior pilots are getting 60 hours instead of zero. I guess they’re the only ones that really benefit from this.

And I’m sure some people went from 12 days of to 18+ days off but the fact is that every single pilot took a pay cut to keep the most junior guys on property. I get the idea of the LOA but I’m sure if it actually went out for a vote that it would have been a huge NO vote, but I also thought the last contract vote was going to be an overwhelming NO

Okay but if you furlough the junior pilots, even senior pilots will get screwed because you will be massively understaffed when demand rushes back up. The whole industry is taking a turn for a couple months, maybe more. We will all pay, it's inevitable. The question is just, do you think we should try and weather it together, or ever person for themselves.

Here's a thought....

This temporary LOA floats some of the payroll troubles for the next two months while UAL reworks the network to include 50 seats, outside of scope, on mainline routes.

Thus keeping our current book of pilots flying and possibly no need to furlough?

I prefer the weather it together approach rather than the ME mindset. Furlough enough and there's downgrades too. I was so senior when I left, the company would have gone out of business before I would be downgraded but I'll gladly work less at full pay to keep paychecks flowing for everyone. The problem is going to be if the country doesn't snap back to the world we lived in just weeks ago, the airlines will crumble and then the pain starts for years to come. Not a good time to be on the bottom of a passenger airline right now, especially with paint of one of the big 3 on the side of your metal.

Correct. What’s your point?

well if furloughs happens that’s what will happen to a lot of captains. Hence why this is better for the entire pilot group and not just the top 30%.
